Flavors of San Antonio Food Tours

San Antonio is fast becoming a foodie heaven. Most people think of Tex-Mex and great BBQ when they think of Texas. San Antonio definitely has the best Tex-Mex food and BBQ that you'll find anywhere, but we have so much more that helps make us unique. San Antonio is truly a melting pot of flavors so….. the Flavors of San Antonio Food Tour takes guests to a wide variety of eating establishments  in San Antonio to try ample samples of several different cuisines on each tour.  We have taken the time and consumed the calories necessary to find the most unique diners, dives, and mom & pop spots that San Antonio has to offer to make the Flavors of San Antonio Food Tour a truly delectable experience.  This tour doesn’t go to the fanciest restaurants in San Antonio but it goes where you get the best food and a great time.  From the restaurant voted most eclectic in San Antonio for 3 years in a row to the quaintest little coffee shop you’ve ever been in, found in the King William Historic District, you will visit places that are usually only known to locals.

San Antonio has a colorful food history going back to the days of the Chili Queens, who made large batches of this tomato based, spicy cross between a soup and stew, and sold them in the original El Mercado in downtown San Antonio, to the alleged inventions of both the margarita and the fajita.  San Antonio has and always will be a very diverse people with equally diverse tastes.  This tasting tour may* have you trying such delicacies as fish tacos at The Cove, featured on The Food Network show, “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives”, King Ranch chicken, a Texan cook’s staple winter casserole layered with corn tortillas, juicy chicken, creamy sauce, and lots of gooey cheese, at Joseph’s Storehouse Bakery & Cafe, San Antonio’s best BBQ brisket/pulled pork/fresh made, jalapeño, smoked sausage slathered in a rich, tangy, secret recipe bbq sauce  at Augie’s Barbed-wire Smokehouse, plus just about the best cupcakes that you’ve ever put in your pie-hole at Frosted Delights by Joyce!  Oh, and don’t forget about the best enchiladas ever, shrimp nachos,  Texas chili, street tacos, guacamole,

You can take more than one San Antonio Food Tour and not visit the same restaurant twice* because we have over 30 restaurants in our repertoire, so make sure you’re hungry and come along on a San Antonio Foodie Tour where we help you “eat your way through San Antonio”!

King William Food Tour

The King William Historic District is one of San Antonio’s beautiful little gems that often get overlooked. Historic Texas Tours has designed this tour to introduce guests to the culinary finds while including some of the history of this unique, downtown neighborhood. From its humble beginnings, this neighborhood began with the building of the Pioneer Flour Mill and has blossomed into a fantastically preserved example of San Antonio’s rich history.  This tour includes sampling foods at up to 4 restaurants.  These are "ample" samples that usually fill most people up and can be considered a late lunch.  *(Water is provided at every stop upon request.  Alcoholic beverages are available at some of the stops and can be purchased and consumed by guests, while the tour is at that restaurant).
